Rehabilitation Counseling and Disability Sciences program earns CACREP accreditation

Faculty and staff of the Rehabilitation Counseling and Disability Sciences program.

The Rehabilitation Counseling and Disability Science (RCDS) program has been accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) through October 31, 2032. The online master鈥檚 program is part of the Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program, which is also CACREP-accredited.

This accreditation reflects the program鈥檚 commitment to excellence and the faculty鈥檚 dedication to preparing students for impactful careers. Chih-Chin Chou, PhD, program director and associate professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies, expressed her excitement, saying, 鈥淲ith this accreditation, our students can be confident in the quality of their education, gaining the skills to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.鈥 She added, 鈥淕raduates will be eligible to become certified rehabilitation counselors and obtain state licensure.鈥
