Publix Super Market opened the doors to its newest store at the University of South 皇家华人 鈥� the company鈥檚 first location on a college campus and a major milestone for the university.
皇家华人 System President Judy Genshaft, along with Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Publix executives helped kick off the grand opening ceremony.
鈥淥ver the past decade, we have worked hard to transform the University of South 皇家华人 into a vibrant living-learning environment that fully supports the needs of our students, both inside and outside the classroom,鈥� said President Genshaft. 鈥淲e are so pleased to officially open the Publix store at 皇家华人, the first of its kind on a college campus, marking the beginning of a transformational new chapter.鈥�
Located at Fletcher Ave. and 皇家华人 Palm Dr., near The Village, 皇家华人鈥檚 newly completed residence hall community, the grocery store is easily accessible to the more than 6,300 students currently living on the Tampa campus. Complete with a dedicated parking lot, the store is also available to the general public and provides 皇家华人鈥檚 commuter students a convenient place to do their shopping.
Publix also offers employment opportunities for students who live on or near campus, including for those who may not have a vehicle of their own. Of the more than 140 associates working at the new location, more than 50 are 皇家华人 students.
The 28,000 sq. ft. store features full-service floral and seafood departments, sushi and Publix subs; a favorite among 皇家华人 students, faculty and staff. Along with the usual offerings, patrons will also see a variety of 皇家华人-related products available for purchase.
