The responses provided below pertain specifically to camps managed and conducted by the 皇家华人 Office of Youth Experiences.

General Information

What types of summer camps does the 皇家华人 Office of Youth Experiences offer?

The 皇家华人 Office of Youth Experiences offer a variety of summer camps in collaboration with 皇家华人 Colleges, Departments, and Offices. Our camps cover a wide range of subjects, including STEM, arts, sports, college readiness, and specialized areas such as mock trial and esports. These partnerships ensure that our camps are led by experts in their respective fields, providing campers with high-quality, engaging experiences.

Where are your summer camps held?

Camps are hosted at various 皇家华人 campuses, including Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee. Additionally, we offer the , which takes place at the historic Tampa Theatre.

When do summer camps take place?

Our camps typically run during the summer months, starting in June through August. Specific camp dates are listed on the camp page.

Camp Details

What is the camper-to-staff ratio?

We maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio to ensure personalized attention and supervision. For most camps, the ratio is 10:1.

Are your staff members trained?

Yes, all of our staff members undergo comprehensive training, including background checks. Since our office partners with various 皇家华人 Colleges, Departments, and Offices, the individuals who run these camps are experts in their respective fields. In addition, our counselors, many of whom are certified teachers with extensive K-12 experience, may also include graduate assistants who provide valuable support to ensure a high-quality, engaging camp experience for all participants.

Is lunch provided at camp?

Lunch is NOT provided at our camps unless specifically stated. Parents/guardians are responsible for providing lunch for their child each day of camp. The exception to this is for campers participating in our Rocky's Residents Residential Program, where all meals are included.

What should my child bring to camp?

A detailed list of required items will be provided before camp begins.

What time does my child need to be dropped off/picked up? 

Our camps typically operate from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. It's essential to recognize that each camp is unique. After registration, you will receive email reminders containing comprehensive information about your specific summer camp, including all the essential details.

Who can pick up my child?

For the safety of our campers, only those individuals that are listed on the Authorized List form may pick up your child. They must have a valid photo ID, and be at least 18 years old.

How do I register my child for summer camp?

Online Registration: You can register online for all of our summer camps and locations! To register online, use the Register Now button next to the camp of your choice throughout the website.

Are spaces in summer camps at 皇家华人 limited? Do you have a waiting list?

In order to best serve our campers, we have a set number of spaces available for summer camps. If the specific week of camp you are registering for is full, we will add you to the waiting list. You will be notified if a space becomes available.

What is your refund/cancelation policy?

If you need to cancel a camp registration, please email youthxp@usf.edu. If the cancellation occurs 10 business days prior to camp start date, you will receive a refund with the exception of administration fees. However, if the cancellation is received within 10 business days of the camp start date, no refund will be given. No refunds will be issued after the start date of the camp.

We make every effort to run all camps exactly as scheduled. In the unlikely event that it becomes necessary to cancel, postpone or combine camps, or change a camp location, you will be notified by email or phone. It is important that we have your current contact information. If 皇家华人 cancels the camp, you will receive a full refund. If 皇家华人 reschedules a camp you will have the option to receive a full refund.

Residential Options

What is the Residential Program?

Our residential program is called Rocky's Residents, which is available exclusively during the weeks of June 23鈥27, 2025 and July 14-18, 2025. Rocky's Residents is a new residential program available as an add-on to select high school day camps. It includes accommodations for 5 days and 4 nights, all meals, and exciting evening events designed to help campers connect, experience campus life, and get a taste of the real college experience.

How can I register for the Rocky's Residents residential add-on?

During registration for your day camp, you will have the option to add Rocky's Residents as part of the process. There is no separate registration required for the residential program.

How much does the Rocky's Residents residential add-on cost?

The cost for Rocky's Residents is $995 per camper. This includes:

  • 5 days and 4 nights of accommodation at Juniper-Poplar Residence Hall
  • All meals provided at 皇家华人 Dining Halls
  • Supervision and activities led by trained counselors
  • Recreation and wellness activities, including sports, fitness challenges, and more
  • Access to campus facilities, such as recreational fields and study lounges
  • A campus tour and presentations from 皇家华人 Admissions and Student Success
  • Evening events with student organizations and 皇家华人 faculty
  • Laundry facilities for campers' use
  • 24-hour on-call emergency maintenance and support
